About the Project

As a publicly traded company, Pinterest has a legal obligation to provide investors and regulators with financial information and resources. For years, the Investor Relations site, which is hosted by a third party vendor, reflected its status as merely an obligation: It had an outdated design, a confusing user experience, and lackluster—and at times inaccurate—content. In short, it needed a makeover.

But what was first positioned as a cosmetic reskin quickly turned into a complete overhaul of the site. I was brought in to reimagine the user experience and refresh the content to better reflect Pinterest’s value in the market.

Working closely with the vendor and my design and engineering teammates at Pinterest, I completely reworked the site navigation to be more intuitive and championed a structure where site content was divided into three core pillars (Financials, Governance, Resources) to make key information easy to find and engaging to explore.

I also rewrote all site copy and automated email messages to improve quality and bring the site in line with the Pinterest brand voice.

Simplified navigation & taxonomy

The old site’s navigation was cluttered and overly complex, making it harder for our busy corporate audience to quickly find the information they need. I implemented a more modern, streamlined navigation where key pages were sorted into content pillars, each of which acted as a hub where users can easily find and discover relevant content without going back and forth to the main nav.
